CALVIN B. MINES
On Saturday, July 23, 2011, of Lanham, MD. Devoted father of Steven Mines and Karna Johnson, grandfather of Dante, Justin, Alenna and Keylani, beloved son of Mary J. Mines. Also survived by brothers Donald and Eric Mines, sisters, Althea Bullock, Loretta Ransome, Sr. Mary Jeanette, lsp, and Veronica Postell, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, July 29, 2011 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation, 880 Eastern Avenue N.E., Washington, DC. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

To the Family, Calvin's spirit will always be with us. As the reruns of the Old Breeze Country Dance Show are shown every week, you will see Calvin smooth stepping staying on beat dancing like no one is watching but we are. Truly Missed by all.

Although I did not know him personally, when at church we would speak and I would expect to see him there. I even saw him dancing on Breeze Country. It won't be the same not seeing him (one of the few male figures that made a difference), but as he is now in the home of homes, I am pleased.

To Mom and Family, Calvin introduced me to you at Mary's Birthday party at the Navy Yard is was so proud you all were together. The Breeze Country Dancers will miss our beloved Calvin such a gentleman at all times. He loved to dance and now he is dancing on a cloud. God Bless you all and know we shall see him again.

Hi, this is Marlette Queen Lacey, I moved from DC in October 1989 and have been out of touch with a lot of my friends.
Please accept my condolences for the loss of Calvin and my sincere sympathy to his family and friends.
Calvin worked at the Library of Congress with my niece Monica (Queen) Beach, Ronnie's daughter. He saw her one day, asked if she was my daughter, and told her that he was my cousin. I was so honored to hear that he liked our family that much.
The entire Mines' family are great people and I really enjoy the friendship I have with you.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. The first time I can remember meeting Calvin, he walked up to me one day at work (LOC) and asked was I Marlette Queen's daughter? I was shocked and replied no...but I am her niece. He smiled and said I knew you were a "Queen". Calvin had such a memorable smile and beautiful heart. May your memories forever comfort you (family). He is already greatly missed.
