CALVIN H. VAUGHAN  

Calvin H. Vaughan, 87, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Born in Colonial Heights, VA he had been a Hampton resident since 1952. Mr. Vaughan was a Navy veteran of WWII and went on to graduate from Richmond Polytechnic Institute. He then went to work in banking where spending many years at Virginia National that became Sovran bank, retiring as a VP of loans in 1990. He was a member of the VFW, an avid golfer and longtime member of the Williamsburg Country Club.
Mr. Vaughan is survived by his daughter, Lynne L. Vaughan; his son, Brett M. Vaughan; sisters, Norma V. Hawkes and Anne V. Sandford; and two grandchildren, Brennan L. Vaughan and Ripley C. Vaughan.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Hampton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669.
The family requests memorial donations to the Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
