CAREY ALFRED MANHERTZ (Age 81)  

Of Burke, Virginia formerly of Mavis Bank, Jamaica, West Indies, passed away on September 29, 2012. A Police Officer in Jamaica and a Court Officer in New York City, his heroism and leadership continued throughout his professional career and inspired all who met him. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Uldah. He had two children, Rosemarie, and Carey Mark. Carey, and his wife, Bridget, gave him three granddaughters: Madeline, Sophie, and Rachel. Carey fought a long and courageous battle. His loving and kind soul embodied quiet dignity and generous spirit. By his example, we are all blessed. There will be a visitation at 1 p.m. and memorial service at 2 p.m. to honor his life at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd. Fairfax, VA 22032, on October 6, 2012. Carey will be loved and missed forever.
