Of Washington, D.C., passed away February 11, 2013. She was born in Georgia to the late Albert Jenkins and late Amy Jenkins. A long time resident of the District of Columbia, Carrie
taught mathematics at several area schools including Hamilton Jr. High School; Moten Middle School; Francis Jr. High School; Ballou Senior High School; Evan Jr. High School; and Eastern Sr. High School. She is survived by her loving sister Alberta Johnson and many devoted nephews and nieces. Carrie was predeceased by her husband, Rev. James Simmons. Funeral will be held Thursday February 21, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Tenth Street Baptist Church, 1000 R Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. followed by interment at the Washington National Cemetery.
