On Tuesday, October 30, 2012 Cathy Lynn Strauch, 58, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Bemidji, MN. Cathy was born on February 10, 1954 in Bemidji, MN and grew up in Minneapolis, MN.
Throughout her life, Cathy worked as a legal secretary and in personal services. At the time of her death, she was taking classes to enter the field of medical transcription. At various points during her life, she lived in Minneapolis, MN; Washington, DC; and Bemidji, MN.
Cathy was a creative, artistic person who loved to draw, paint, and make photo collages. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and other crafts. She was also an animal lover who was devoted to her many pets throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, Jason I. Strauch, daughter-in-law, Cariann, and two grandchildren Ava and Jameson of St. Louis Park, MN; her mother, Melverna J. Watkins (Lindquist) and stepfather Hank E. Watkins, III of Coon Rapids, MN; her sister, Chérie R. Kiser, brother-in-law Randall D. Eliason, and their children Nathaniel and Sonja, of McLean, VA; and other relatives and friends around the country.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10, at 11 a.m. at Cease Funeral Home, 2807 Irvine Ave. NW, Bemidji, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Cathy's memory be made to or 1-800-DIABETES or , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
