Cecil Hardee Obituary

HARDEE CECIL F. HARDEE, SR. On Thursday, April 2, 2009, CECIL F. HARDEE, SR., age 87, of New Bern, North Carolina, formerly of Fairfax, VA, slipped into eternal rest at Craven Regional Medical Center due to complications from pneumonia. Mr. Hardee was born June 11, 1921 in the Township of Simpson Creek, Horry County, South Carolina to the late George F. and Annie Lillian Hardee. Mr. Hardee was a veteran of WWII, and a pipe fitter for a mechanical contractor before becoming the founder and owner of Heritage Heating and Cooling from 1969 until 1989. He was an active member of the Fairfax Host Lions Club in Fairfax, VA. He is survived by his 4 children, Nancy R. Klich, Cecil F., Jr. and wife Lucy, Susan L. Gillispie, David C. and wife Debbie, a Step-daughter Nancy C. VanWyck, 6 brothers and sisters, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wives, Martha J. Steadman Hardee in 1965 and Nancy E. Hardee in 2008, one step-son John E. VanWyck and one brother, James Lloyd. Services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, New Bern, NC with Pastor Mary Frances Curns officiating. Internment will follow at Christ Episcopal Church. Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of contributions to the Fairfax Host Lions Club, P.O. Box 98, Fairfax, VA 22038, for use in Sight Conservation or to the Christ Episcopal Church P.O. Box 1246, New Bern, NC 28560 in his memory.
