CHRISTOPHER JOHN EATON
A long-time resident of Vienna, VA died on August 18, 2013 of a heart attack while competing in the Luray Sprint Triathlon. He was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth B. Eaton and the late William F. Eaton, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.) of Vienna.
Chris was born at Biggs AFB in El Paso, TX on January 24, 1962 and was made an Honorary Citizen of Texas. He grew up in Texas, Omaha NB, Northern Virginia, Dayton OH and Smithtown NY, where he graduated from Smithtown High School. He studied history at Fairfield University, where he graduated in 1984, and worked on Wall Street for several years before starting a career in educational administration. He received his Master's degree in that field from George Washington University in 1994. Chris worked at the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools for 18 years, where he was the Associate Executive Director and respected for his work.
CJ traveled widely in his work and with friends and family. Some of his favorite places were Las Vegas, New Orleans and Dewey Beach, but he visited most U.S. states and six continents, making friends wherever he went. Chris loved a good time and had many pursuits, including athletics, bocce ball and parties of all kinds. He is deeply missed by many.
Christopher is survived by his mother Elizabeth; brother Mark of Austin TX; sister Lisa and husband Thomas McCarthy of Cincinnati OH; brother Scott and wife Rosemarie of Centreville and sister Kerin of Falls Church. He gave generously of his time and resources throughout his life.
