Born April 16, 1936 he passed away at home peacefully November 3, 2012. Johnny is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years Maureen Bailey, a loving and devoted father of eight children; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-children. Johnny was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen since 1968, retiring from Amtrak in 2001. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Johnny loved life, golf, his Redskins and living every day to its fullest. There will not be an open funeral service and in lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in his honor to The American Legion Charities, PO Box 1055, Indianapolis, IN 46206.
A celebration of Johnny's life will be held Wednesday, November 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mama Stella's Ristorante, 7918 Old Branch Ave., Clinton, MD 20735.
