DARLENE M. CULMER
Peacefully, Darlene Marie Culmer on October 28, 2012 at her home in Front Royal, VA. Born in Bridgeport, CT to Robert A. Hebert and Margaret Fitzgerald. Orphaned at an early age, raised by beloved grandparents Nana and Popsie and aunt Eileen Fitzgerald of Derby, CT.
Survived by husband Bruce M. Culmer and brother Edward Hebert and family of Chicago, IL. Before retiring she worked as an Event Planner for Spargo Associates and earlier for National Automobile Dealers Association. Darlene loved horses and was an avid photographer. Being around horses gave her a new lease on life. She loved Paris, her summer home at Canadohta Lake, PA and the ocean at the Outer Banks, NC. Diagnosed with Lupus in 1983, she dealt with Rheumatoid arthritis, Heart disease and Lung problems. In constant pain for 29 years, she played it down for friends and family. Quite the actress.
Stress from the upcoming "Frankenstorm" Sandy finally did her in. She passed in her sleep from heart failure, now pain free and looking over her loved ones. Memorial donations may be made to - Back To Basics Horse Association P.O. Box 20 Catlett, VA 20119. Memorial
