DOROTHY EARLE BRANDT "Dolly"
Of Vienna, VA died on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at her home with her loving family by her side. Beloved mother of the late Gary Brandt; cherished wife of the late Jack Brandt; daughter of the late Sollace and Bernice Earle; sister of the late George C. Earle. Dolly was born in Washington D.C. and graduated from Wilson High School in 1942. She graduated from Wilson's Teacher College in 1946 and began her lifelong passion for teaching. She was a substitute teacher at Thoreau Middle School in Vienna before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida. For over 15 years, she was a teacher's aide working with special needs children, whom she adored. Dolly will be remembered for her kindness, caring, and courage, as well as her incredible sense of humor, her quick wit as the "Queen of Puns", her love of family, the Redskins, bridge, bingo and slot machines. She is survived by two nieces, Cathleen (Earle) Parker and Carol Lynn (Earle) O'Neill; two nephews, Stephen Earle and George Earle, Jr.; 17 great-nieces and nephews; five great-great nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law Doris Earle; her loving cat, Gidget; and her dear friend, Golden Girl Companion, Jean Rickard. Relatives and friends are invited to Dolly's Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W.
