E. BRUCE BUTLER
E. Bruce Butler passed away at his home in Palos Verdes on October 28, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Marcia, daughters, Bevin and Blair, son, Brent, and brother, John. Bruce was born on August 20, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1961, earned a law degree from Pitt Law School in 1964 and a L.L.M degree from Georgetown University in 1969. In 1967, Bruce married Marcia Mann in Montclair, NJ. Bruce's distinguished legal career included a fellowship in Frankfurt, Germany; employment at Patton, Boggs, & Blow in Washington, DC, and as resident partner in London; at Allied Signal Aerospace as international counsel in Montclair, NJ, then as general counsel in Torrance, CA; and at Kaiser Aluminum as general counsel in Pleasanton, CA and Houston, TX. Bruce retired in 2000 and became an avid genealogist, eventually writing a book about his wife's direct ancestors who helped found the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
