Edward Brien "Arch" Kennedy, died peacefully at home in Atlanta,Georgia on September 26, 2012. Beloved husband of Mary Jane Kennedy, father of Brien Kennedy (Resa), John "Jake" Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy, Devina Allen, Brince (Stacy) Dixon, and eight grandchildren. Brother of Christine Kennedy O'Connor (Daniel) of Falmouth, MA, Mary Jane "Susan" Kennedy Baxter (Robert) of East Greenwich, RI and brother in law of Jean Kennedy of Chevy Chase. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine and father, Joseph Vincent Kennedy, MD of Washington, DC and his brother Joseph Neill Kennedy, MD of Chevy Chase.
Arch grew up in Washington, DC. He played football at Georgetown Preparatory School, Woodrow Wilson Senior High School, Villanova University and coached football at Gonzaga College High School. He was a life long Redskins fan and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Arch was an Executive Vice President of Colquitt Carruthers, a real estate company serving the Metropolitan Washington area. He continued his career in real estate specializing in nation-wide employee relocation for over 50 years.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life was held at the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta on October 1, 2012. Contributions can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 or the , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
