ETHEL GERTRUDE SCHAFER  

Ethel Gertrude Schafer of Waldorf, MD died on January 17, 2013 at 96 years of age. She was born on March 7, 1916 in Beverly, NJ to William Green and the former Marguerite Reese Wilmerton. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Raymond Green and Louis Taylor Green. She had retired from the Prince Georges County Public School System after a long career as a teacher and as a principal. She had been widowed of William J. Schafer and Paul Elwood Lewis. She is survived by two daughters Marguerite Ann Tallant of Crofton, MD and Cora Jean Cox of Waldorf, MD, and one son Paul Elwood Lewis II of Derwood, MD. There are 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Ethel will be remembered lovingly by her family, fellow teachers, and fellow principals. A memorial service will be held at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, MD at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
