EUGENIA DE MAIERS  
Y DE LA TORRE UGARTE  

Born May 22, 1912, in Pacasmayo, Peru, SA, died January 19, 2013, Sandy Spring, MD, USA. Eugenia was the great great grandchild of Jose de la Torre Ugarte, who penned the Peruvian National Anthem; and prominent figures of the war of independence from Spain, Juan Manuel Iturregui and José Andrés RÁzuri. Predeceased by husband H. Gerald Maiers and great grandson, Dylan O'Grady. Survived by daughters Theresa Maiers Williams (Silver Spring, MD) and Rosina L. Maiers y de la Torre Ugarte (Timonium, MD), her son-in-law Michael J. Williams, her three grandchildren, Mark Williams (Bethesda, MD), Julie Williams O'Grady (New Market, MD) and Matt Williams (Wilmington, NC) and their spouses, Michael O'Grady and Caroline Williams; her five great-grandchildren Kiley and Shaelin O'Grady, and Coleman, Fletcher and Jake Williams; and her family in Lima, Peru. A Memorial Service will be held February 16 at 12 p.m. at Leisure World, the Greens, Building 15107, in Silver Spring, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the US Humane Society are welcome.
