Florence Bibbns Smith "Estelle" (Age 102)
Of College Park, MD passed away gently in her sleep on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. Florence B. Smith was born June 28, 1914 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the loving daughter of William A. Bibbins and Florence Vera Mott Bibbins also from New York City, N Y. Florence Estelle was the beloved wife of Calvin P. Smith of Brooklyn, NY. and Washington, DC, who predeceased her in November 1988. Florence B. Smith had onlyone sibling, William M. Bibbins of College Park, MD who passed away in January 2005. She was a faithful member of Church of Our Saviour Brookland Parish on Irving and 16th Street NE in Washington, DC. Florence B. Smith leaves a stepson, Irving R. Smith and a stepdaughter, Audrey Jean Smith both of Bedford, Massachusetts. She also leaves two step-grandchildren, Adrienne C. Smith of Jonesboro, Georgia and Lisa R. Smith of Rex, Georgia and two step-greatgrandchildren, Erica Tranay Smith and Travis Allen Smith both of Jonesboro, Georgia. In addition to her stepchildren; stepgrandchildren; and step great-grandchildren, Florence B. Smith also leaves an "adopted" granddaughter, Rev. Gayle Fisher-Stewart, Assistant Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Washington, DC and several cousins including Marie Ellen Gibbs of Brooklyn, N. Y. and Sonia L. McCrimmon of Vauxhall, New Jersey. A memorial service for Florence B. Smith will be held April 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at theChurch of Our Saviour, Brookland parish 1616 Irving Street, NE, Washington, DC. There will be a repast for attendees at the church immediately after the memorial service.
