FLORENCIA ALFONSO  

Peacefully on February 23, 2014 was called to join her departed husband, Eugenio Alfonso. Born in Havana, Cuba on May 10, 1921. In 1945 she moved to Tampa, FL with her husband where she lived for 67 years. In 2012 she moved to Washington, DC to be closer to her family. She is survived by her two sons, Eugenio and Pedro (Kim) Alfonso; sister, Leida Cortes; granddaughters, Gabrielle and Alexandra; niece, Xiomara Metcalfe and a host of other relatives. Service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 15th & V St., NW, Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of Christian Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, 1825 K. St., NW, Suite 1103, Washington, DC 20036. Interment in Tampa, FL next to her loving husband. Arrangements by McGUIRE.
