Frederick Chipps Obituary


FREDERICK MACK CHIPPS (Age 87)  
Of St. Marys, WV, formerly of Vienna, VA, died, October 1, 2011, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus. He was born, February 25, 1924, in Harrison County, WV, a son of the late Joseph Newton and Sadie Schell Chipps. He was a 1942 graduate of Morgantown High School, a 1950 graduate from the College of Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University, where he received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. He had been employed for various companies, including RCA, General Electric, and Communications Satellite. He was a United Methodist and served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II and the U. S. Air Force in Korea. His hobbies included Womans Basketball, and a staunch WVU Football Fan. He is survived by one brother, John Chipps of St. Marys, WV, several nieces and nephews, his long time friend, Linda Proctor and her children, Travis and Tara Eddy of Vienna, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Dean. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 3 p.m. on the old St. Marys Bridge, St. Marys, WV, with military services. There will be no visitation. Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV is in charge of arrangements. An online guest register is available atwww.ingramfh.com
