Mr. George Botts was a fantastic cat!! He always encouraged the best from you. He was main the reason I recorded "Candy". We had performed together at Westminster church many years ago and the rest is history.
Always sharp and clean both personality and professionally! My best memory is the long western coat with the cowboy hat. (Gunslinger...tenor style!!!) A true hitter!
Thank-you for everything you shared with me. I love you and safe travels.

George Botts was an outstanding musician. He will truly be missed. I had the pleasure of hearing him play at Westminister church.

As a new vocalist in the DC area I was flattered when Mr Botts agreed to do a gig with me in the early 80's. To be working with such a fine artist early in my career was exciting. What struck me at that time and through all these years was his gentle spirit. The dictionary should have a picture of Mr George Botts next to the word Gentleman. Mr Botts played solos that gave new meaning to ballads.

To the Botts family. I met Mr. Botts at Westminster church while working with Jazztimes Magazine. I had the opportunity to hear many great saxophone players and I always thought of Mr. Botts (George) as one of the very best. I know he will get first chair in the big band. Thanks George, I will keep the Botts family in my prayers.

The DC Jazz community just lost a big piece of its Legacy. As a sound engineer for Jazz Night in Southwest, I had the privilege of working with George Botts many times. George played all the old standards, mostly beautiful ballads, that none of the younger guys seem to play or even know any more. He was keeping that Legacy alive, but no more. He will be missed.

To the Botts family: We will miss the warm and loving personality of your father and his melodious sounds. He bought great pleasure to the audiences for which we booked his group. Our prayers and sympathy go out to you during this hour. The Staff @ Davnor Insurance Agency.
