BOUTEILLER GRISWOLD LADD BOUTEILLER "Bout" USN CMDR (Ret) Griswold Ladd (Bout) Bouteiller, USN CMDR (Ret), age 101, of Sterling, VA died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the Johnson Center, Falcons Landing. He was born in Middletown, CT on December 16, 1908 to the late William and Grace Bouteiller. Bout was a graduate of Amherst College, class of 1930. He was commissioned as a LTJG by the Navy in 1942 and served as an engineering officer in the Bureau of Ships, Washington, DC, and a logistics officer on the staff of the Far East command in Tokyo, Japan and as Comptroller of the Boston Naval Shipyard. Bout retired from the Navy in 1962 and moved with his family to McLean, VA where they lived for 34 years, before he and his wife Jane moved to Falcons Landing, Sterling, VA. Bout will lovingly be remembered by all of his friends and family as an incredibly kind and polite gentleman. He had a very inventive mind and was forever repairing and designing things for himself as well as for others. Bout derived much pleasure from working on his boat and taking friends and family on rides down the Potomac River. Bout was the beloved husband for 63 years of the late Jane Beeton Bouteiller, devoted father of David Bouteiller and his wife Nancy of Newport News, VA, Nancy Bouteiller Barnes and her husband, Lindsay of Kamuela, HI, brother of the late Austin Bouteiller and Marion Bouteiller Tucker, proud grandfather of Allyson Manley, David Bouteiller, Jr., Lindsay Barnes, III and Andrew Barnes, great-grandfather of Madison Grace, Gavin, Miller Elisabeth, Maycie Gray, and Emma Grace. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at Falcons Landing Chapel 20522 Falcons Landing Circle, Potomac Falls, VA 20165. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, June 28 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Johnson Center at Falcons Landing, 20535 Earhart Place, Potomac Falls, VA 20165 or Evercare Hospice, 12018 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 400, Reston, VA 20191.
