HELEN LINNEA CARLSON FINN
(Age 94)
Of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2012, at the Davis Health Care Center. She loves the Lord and has gone home to be with Him.
Born March 1, 1918, in Chicago Il. the second of four daughters and one brother of John Alrick Carlson and Alma Axelia Anderson Carlson, Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Vincent Finn; daughter Patricia Ann Finn Graves; brother John Alrick Carlson, sisters Ruth Axelia Carlson Mattison and Doris E Carlson Moncrieff.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian Alviria Carlson Johnson and husband Douglas William Johnson of Daytona Beach Fl., her son, Thomas
Alan Finn and wife Jane Ann Thompson Finn of Wilmington, NC; loving grandchildren, Gregory Alan Finn and wife Janet, Jeffery Alan Finn, Kristi Dove Graves Bradley and husband Kevin, Julie Carlson Graves Mann and husband Scott; great grandchildren Jessica Marie Finn, William Thomas Finn, Maeve Margaret Bradley, Annabelle Patricia Bradley, Kelan Everett Mann, Carson Finn Mann, and many other nieces and nephews.
Helen deeply loved her husband of 57 years, "Mickey" Finn; loved golf " she had three hole in ones", playing bridge and later solitaire, entertaining and a career of work after raising her two children. She traveled extensively with her husband who retired after 31 years in
the Marine Corps and together they ran their real estate company, Aldie Reality, in Aldie, VA before retiring to Florida.
Helen will always be remembered as a strong woman, a wonderful mother and as "Noonie" to her grandchildren. She was a wonderful hostess to her many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Davis Health Care Center payable to: CND, Inc., Legacy Fund, 1011 Porters Neck Road, Wilmington, NC 28411 or Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
