KAUFMAN HELEN LEVINE KAUFMAN On On November 3, 2012, age 69, of Silver Spring, Maryland. Beloved wife of 45 years of Robert Kaufman, devoted mother of Sarah (Stan) Kaufman-Relph and Joshua (Jessica) Kaufman, loving grandmother of Zachary and Noah Kaufman. Also survived by brother, Martin (Joanne) Levine, cherished cousins and dear friends. Helen grew up in Washington, D.C. After attending college at Boston University, she moved to Southern California where she earned her Master's Degree in Social Work and spent more than twenty years working at Verdugo Hills Hospital. She met Bob, the love of her life, while pursuing her graduate degree, and they raised their children in North Hollywood, California. In 1999, shortly after the birth of their first grandchild, Helen and Bob moved to Silver Spring. Helen worked for twelve years as the Executive Director of the Misler Adult Day Center. In Maryland, Helen rediscovered her passion for painting still lifes and landscapes; enjoyed countless adventures with her grandsons; delighted in planning and attending her daughter's wedding; and proudly watched her grandson, Zach, become a Bar Mitzvah. Helen will be remembered for her unconditional love and loyalty toward her family and friends, her generosity, her sense of humor, her adventurous spirit, and her devotion to making people's lives better. Services to be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapels, 1170 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852. Shiva will be observed at her home Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings.
