IRWIN LOU GOLDSTEIN
On Friday, March 8, 2013, Professor Emeritus, Irwin Lou Goldstein, of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of 52 years to Arlene "Micki" Goldstein; devoted and loving father of Harold (Tamar) Goldstein, and Beth (Chris) Purcell; adored grandfather of Miriam Goldstein, Benjamin Goldstein, Zachery Purcell and Ethan Purcell; dear brother of Beverly Zuckerman. A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at BETH DAVID CEMETERY, 300 ELMONT ROAD, ELMONT, NY on Sunday, March 10 at 1 p.m. The family will be receiving at the Goldstein residence in Rockville, MD, Monday through Wednesday, from 7 to 9 p.m., with service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospice Casey House or The Micki and Irv Scholarship Fund, at The University of Maryland, College Park. www.danzanskygoldberg.com

Irv and I started our careers together as postdocs at "the laboratory of aviation psychology" at Ohio State University. I from the west coast and He from the East coast. What a successful career he had.

Mickie, Harold and Beth, I just learned of Irv's passing and am saddened deeply. Irv was larger than life, touching so many of our lives. I know you all cherished him and he you. I have many memories from his interviewing me as a doctoral candidate, teaching, advising me on my Masters, helping me transition to and from academia and becoming colleagues with his referring work to me. Irv was such a great person with respect for all and a caring attitude for justice. Of course, he was my sounding board for all of the academic concerns that I had. He will be missed and I am one who benefitted from his outstanding leadership, and warn compassionate smile.

Irv was a leader, teacher, scientist, advocate for the oppressed, and warm compassionate friend. His textbook is in multiple editions, and his students in the thousands. Industrial-Organizational Psychology has lost one of its greats. We will miss our friend.
