James Edwin Dingess, 72, of Hartwood, VA passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Stafford Hospital. Mr. Dingess retired from working at the Bureau of Printing and Engraving. He was a great Christian Man who loved the Lord. He will be missed by the children who knew him as the "candy man." He was born in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Moscoe Dingess and Ruby R. Chrislip Dingess. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Norman Harold Dingess. Survivors include his sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Pickles (Ron); and his nephews, Robert (Tabitha) Dingess, of Hartwood, James (Heather) Dingess of Hartwood, Thomas (Miria) Dingess of Tooele, Utah, David (Elizabeth) Dingess of Front Royal, VA and Chris Pickles of Kellogg, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 29 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 30 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Beckley, West Virginia. Online guest book is at
