JAMES TALBOT TIPPETT
On October 25, 2012 James peacefully passed away at Asbury Methodist Village in Maryland. Raised in Oxford, NC, he graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. His service in the US Air Force brought him to Washington, DC, where he chose to stay as a federal civilian working in computer security for the National Security Agency. He retired after 46 years of federal service and in retirement earned his Master's Degree in Information Management from the University of Maryland University College. He was a beloved father and grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking, and frequent getaways to Rehoboth Beach.
He is survived by his brother Lawrence and his daughters, Sandy Patterson and Amy Forsythe, and their families who will miss him dearly but are celebrating his life. The extended Tippett family would like to thank the staff at Asbury for the excellent care and comfort they provided over the past few years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10, at 1 p.m. at ROBERT A. PUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, 7557 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD.
