JEAN GROVE TAYLOR  

Died on May 27, 2012 at her home in Washington, DC. She was born on April 26, 1927 in Washington, DC to the late Frank Romine and Florence Celeste Crossman Taylor. Jean graduated in 1945 from Western High School, Washington, DC and earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Sweet Briar College graduating in 1949 as Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to earn her Master's degree in Industrial Psychology in 1951 from Cornell University at Ithaca, NY and also graduated in 1966 from George Washington University School of Law. She was an attorney and counselor of the United States District Court from 1967 until her retirement in 1981. Jean retired from S.P.C. as a Corporate Attorney after 20 years of service. Because of her distinguished career, Jean was selected as one of the first women to be accepted as a member into the Cosmo's Club, in Washington, DC.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved brothers, Jack C. Taylor and Thomas R. Taylor and Jack's wife, Elizabeth Miller Taylor.
She is survived by Thomas' wife, Dorothy T. Taylor of Sperryville, VA and was the proud aunt of Pamela Taylor of Ellicott City, MD, Frank Taylor of Laurel, MD, Thomas G. Taylor, William W. Taylor, Susan M. Taylor and Carol C. Taylor, all of Sperryville, VA. Jean was also survived by nine great-nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces and nephews and her longtime friend, Marge Byers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA, where a Life Celebration Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following the service inurnment will be held at Andrew's Chapel Cemetery, Vienna, VA. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Crossman United Methodist Church, 384 North Washington Street, Falls Church, VA 22046.
