JEANNE W. HOFFMAN (Age 71)

Entered into eternal life Monday, February 25, 2013 in The Villages, FL.
Born April 17, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Wood, Jr. and Natalie deRaismes Wood of Westminster, MD.
She graduated in 1958 from All Saints Episcopal School, Vicksburg, Mississippi, and in 1961 received her Bachelor's Degree from the Towson State Teachers College, Towson, MD. Jeanne was a math teacher for the Baltimore County Public Schools. She retired after 35 years of service. Jeanne enjoyed music of the 50's and 60's and had a profound interest in sports car clubs. She was a member of the former Chesapeake Sports Car Club, the Volvo Marque Club and the Sports Car Club of America, in which she held various responsibilities for 30 years as a member of the Washington, D.C. Region. For many years she served as Chief of Timing and Scoring for the Region, and assisted in the transition to transponder timing for the Club. She was a wine aficionado and held membership in the Carroll County Chapter of the American Wine Society and the national organization. She expressed her creative talents through hand made jewelry and crafts and origami, and was well known for her homemade bread. Without question, Jeanne was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Discovering her interest in NFL football later in life, she displayed pure passion about the game and her "Ravens". She was also a voracious reader and puzzle solver. She and her husband Thomas enjoyed wintering in The Villages, FL for the past few years.
She leaves her husband of forty years, Thomas L. Hoffman, a brother, Joseph L. Wood III, wife Laura and daughter Natalie of Annapolis, MD, nephew Joseph L. Wood IV, wife Sarah and children Joseph L. Wood V and Samantha of Westminster, MD, and Timothy G. Wood, wife Nora and daughters Liza and Palmer of Bronx, NY.
A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held on April 20 at 12:30 p.m. at the home of her brother, 220 Norwood Road, Annapolis, MD. Burial will be for family only at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg, PA.
