JEANNETTE S. SAFARYN (Age 91)
Died peacefully on September 6, 2012. Beloved mother of Deborah and her husband Jack Fitzgerald and fond grandmother to Paul and Claire. Survived by sisters Constance Richardson, Marie Hungerford, Ruth Lenwell and Julie Bien. Predeceased by son Richard and sisters Marian Bien and Dickie Spencer. Born in Washington, DC, she lived in Silver Spring until moving to Montclair, NJ in 2002 to be near her daughter. She proudly worked in procurement at Naval Ordnance Laboratory, White Oak from 1959 until retiring in 1993. She enjoyed jazz and classical music, theatre, the National Gallery of Art, literature, especially Thomas Wolfe's works, and nature. She will be in our hearts forever. Graveside services Saturday, September 15 at 10 a.m. at All Souls Cemetery, 11401 Brink Rd., Germantown, MD. For online condolences please visit
