JOAN BAKER RANDOLPH
Joan Baker Randolph died of natural causes on August 30, 2012. She was 89. Mrs. Randolph was born in Sayre, PA on December 19, 1922.
Joan graduated Valedictorian from Sayre High School in 1940. She attended
Penn State University, earning a B.A. in Psychology. She married William J. Randolph in October, 1945. The couple had three sons.
During the 1960's, while still raising her family, Mrs. Randolph decided to become a teacher. She went back to school, receiving a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Maryland. She taught third grade students for many years at Poolesville Elementary School in Montgomery County, MD.
Joan enjoyed music, reading, and beach vacations with her family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill; her three sons, Bill, Jeff, and Bob; her sister Gail, of Nashville, TN, and four grandchildren.
An interment ceremony was held on September 5 at Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, PA. She will be greatly missed.
