JOAN ELIZABETH MANN  

Joan died peacefully at her home in Arlington, Virginia on February 2, 2013 at the age of 80 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. An avid bridge player and world traveler she was well known for her sense of poise and style. She was born in New York City, where she worked as a fashion designer after graduating from Traphagen School of Fashion. The wife of a U.S. Army diplomat, she lived and traveled throughout North America, Europe and the Middle East.
Joan is survived by her son, Gary J. Mann and his wife, Katharine; two grandchildren, Keith P. Mann and Laura E. Mann and her cousin, Ret. Lt. Col. Terrence Cooney and his wife Lillie Ann all of whom gave her great comfort during her final months.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at her residence on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For additional information or to express condolences, please visit:
