McALEER JOHN H. McALEER "Jack" MAJ. US Army Air Corps John "Jack" H. McAleer, age 83, died on Friday, December 11, 2009 at his home in Berlin, MD. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur F. McAleer and Marguerite Blessing McAleer. Mr. McAleer was a graduate of Gonzaga High School Class of 1944. He was WWII Veteran having served in the Army Air Corp and later in the Major in the National Guard. He had worked for many years as an Superintendent with A.J. Ellis Construction Company. He was a dedicated member of St. John Neuman Catholic Church in Ocean Pines and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Rose Mary McAleer; 10 children, J. Kevin McAleer and his wife Jennifer, Thomas M. McAleer, Patrick B. McAleer and his wife Sally, Janet M. Bradford and her husband Alan, Andrew J. McAleer and his wife Barbara, James A. McAleer, Robert F. McAleer and his wife Kathy, Michael A. McAleer and his wife Angela, Stephen J. McAleer and his wife Beverly, and Kathlee M. McAleer-Lorance and her husband Keith; two brothers, Francis R. McAleer and Gerald McAllen; one sister, Rita Rader; 31 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased in the death by brother Charles A. McAleer and by baby Bernadette McAleer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Rev. Thomas Protack will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in church. Interment will be on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13705 Georgia Ave., Sliver Spring, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11211 Beauchamp Rd., Ocean Pines, MD 21811. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
