JOHN PATRICK LANGE

After spending the summer traveling to visit each of his children and grandchildren and much of his family John Patrick Lange, 73, suddenly passed away on the evening of August 18, 2012 in the presence of his wife and five children.
John was born August 30, 1938 in Chicago, IL as the middle child of a railroader. During his life, John accomplished much professionally at the National Labor Relations Committee, Amtrak, the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, and in service to the Catholic Church, but his proudest accomplishments were realized through his children and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, sports enthusiast, member of the Lay Fraternities of St Dominic and a devoted Catholic. John was always known as the catalyst for bringing family and friends together.
John is survived by his wife Judith Rose Lange of Dunbarton, VA; his five children, Beth McQuilkin (Christopher) and Joseph Lange (Isabella) from Chicago, IL, Deirdre Manross (Glen) and Stephen Lange from Salt Lake City, UT, and Dennis Lange (Nancy Macgregor) from New Haven, CT; his seven grandchildren; and his brothers Jim Lange of Lansing, IL and Bill Lange of Wauwatosa, WI.
There will be a Funeral Mass and short reception on August 21 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church located in Gainesville, VA followed by a burial and service at Calvary Cemetery in Steger, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are sent to the Dominican Nuns Monastery of The Mother of God (1430 Riverdale Street - West Springfield, MA 01089).
