JOHN THOMAS COURTEAU  
August 29, 1938 - March 21, 2013  

Peacefully paced away at his home in Arlington with his family by his side. 1955-1959 served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt.
Previously employed by Lillard Painting for more than 20 years. Retired from Arlington County Public Schools Maintenance department after 20 years of service.
Survivors include former wife Audrey "Cookie" Courteau of Arlington, VA. and their two children; daughter Angel Tynes (Leon) of Woodbridge, VA and son Shane Courteau of Hagerstown, MD; two grandchildren Leon Tynes, Jr. (US Army) and Ravyn Tynes.
Current wife Claudia Stout-Courteau of Arlington and two step-children Michelle Ciszewski of Woodbridge, VA and Randy Stout or Arlington, VA and Michelle's sons Joshua and Jeffrey Stout; two sisters Maxine Christy of Pennsylvania and Marylou Bullerman (Richard) of Minnesota and brother Gerald Courteau (Muriel) of South Dakota. John is preceded in death by his parents Irene and Thoephil Courteau; his brother Francis Courteau and his beloved granddaughter Chevelle Tynes.
Service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield Virginia on Tuesday, April 2, 2013; at 11 a.m., with a light lunch immediately following. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Capital Caring of Arlington, VA @ 703-525-7070 or in his name.
