I was so stunned and saddened to hear of John's passing. A friend and former colleague, I will never forget John sharing (with great pride!) the videos his brother sent him from the war. And though this is on a much lighter note, I also won't foget how excited he was when he bought this cool new toothbrush a couple years ago and it made his teeth so darned white! He was so excited about that!
I will miss you, John.

I have great memories of traveling to distant places with John. I will always remember the laughs we shared over a few pints in europe or after a long day on the trail in Peru. He was a good friend and a great person.

You were the best friend I ever had. We had a great time together and I will treasure those times. My life will never be complete knowing you can never now be a part of it as my friend. You made me a better person, and I will always be grateful. You had a quality about you that no one else I've known can emulate. You were such a genuine, kind, good person. I always thought you had a beautiful soul.
My heart is breaking for your family and your fiance.

A friend and a coworker, I could rely on John for a laugh or a great conversation on any given day. He had a way of letting those who knew him really know him. John lived his life to its fullest, true to the people and things that mattered most to him. I pray for peace for John's family and loved ones. I am so very sorry for your loss.

John was truly an extraordinary person, and we miss him. I will always remember the view I normally got of him: quickly walking here or there doing whatever it was he supposed to be doing at the time, and always with a grin on his face.

Although he is John to many, he will always be JW to us. Thoughts of him brings many similes. From our first meeting in Brussesl, we knew JW was one heck of a great kid. The friendship he share with Tara and the kindness he always had for Jessica's buddy Stephen II, could never be forgotten. He was as sincere with adults as he was with his friends. He had that gift that made you feel special when he was talking with you...made you feel he really cared about you and what you had to say. He left a mark on this world and upon our hearts. He is one of those people you hope you can be like. I am better for having known and loved him. I will pray for him and to him. Our hearts are breaking while our memories are treasured. You have our love, Joayn and Steve
