JOSEPH JOHN MURPHY (Age 44) "Joe"  

Of Haymarket, VA, died suddenly on Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home. Joe had recently celebrated his recovery from a stroke last August. Joe was born on April 26, 1968 in Saint John, N.B., Canada to John Henry and Rose Marie (Comeau) Murphy. Joe and his wife Keely moved from Canada in 1995 after graduating from the University of New Brunswick. He worked for Exxon-Mobil and most recently Circle K. Joe loved his wife and daughters. An avid sports fan, he loved to play golf, cheer for the New England Patriots, and sponsored a NASCAR team. He was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Mission in Haymarket. Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Keely Ridgway Murphy of Haymarket, VA; three children: Lauren, 13, Morgan, 10, and Reagan, 6, all of Haymarket, VA; parents: John and Rose Murphy of Saint John, N.B.; one brother: Michael Murphy and his wife Mindy of Quispamsis, N.B.; two nieces: Madison and Megan Murphy; one nephew: Mackenzie Murphy all of Quispamsis, N.B.; father and mother in-law: H. Matt and Pat Ridgway of Saint John, N.B.; brother-in-law: Matthew Ridgway and Jessica Steele and nephew: Stephen Ridgway all of Cold Lake, AB and a special family friend: Pauline Williams and her husband Barry of Crestview, FL.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, VA 20155. Interment will be held in Canada.Charitable contributions can be made to the American Stroke Foundation and an online memorial is located at www.piercefh.com.
