LAUREN JACKSON GOIN (Age 90)  

Died at his residence on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Born in Mt. Vernon, Washington, "Jack" was a son of the late Irel Lauren and Ina Lorraine Goin.
Jack received his Bachelor of Arts in Technical Criminology and his Master of Criminology from the University of California at Berkeley. He was in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946. After the Navy he was Chief of the Microanalysis Section, Wisconsin Crime Laboratory from 1948 to 1952; then the Director, Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Crime Laboratory from 1953 to 1955; the public safety advisor with International Cooperation Agency (later Agency for International Development) of the US State Department, Jakarta, Indonesia from 1955 to 1957; Ankara, Turkey from 1958 to 1969, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 1960 to 1962, Chief of Operations, 1964 to 1972, superior honor award, 1972, Deputy Director 1972-73 and Director, 1973 to 1975; President, Public Safety Services, Inc 1975 to 1989; Founding Fellow, American Academy of Forensic Sciences (past chairman of the criminalistics section); member, American Society of Industrial security (CPP), International Association of Chiefs of Police. Jack retired to Myrtle Beach SC in 1991.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Evelyn Goin of Myrtle Beach; Susan Loreen Renaud and her husband John of Alexandria, VA; Thomas Richard Goin of SE Asia; Peter Jackson Goin of Reno, NV and grandchildren Kari Elena and Dana Evelyn Goin.
 
Services were held in Murrells Inlet, SC.
