Went to join her love on November 26, 2012. She was born Lillian Needelman March 15, 1919, in New York City. She married Leonard Stickle September 14, 1940, and enjoyed a marriage of more than 50 years of love and fulfillment.
Lillian enjoyed her adult life in Washington, DC, and suburban Maryland, with several years in France and Luxembourg. The Stickles moved to Tucson in the early 1970's. The last four years Lillian lived near family in Sierra Vista.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Marcia Stickle (George French), Takoma Park, MD, Patricia Herrewig (James), Sierra Vista, AZ; three grandchildren, Justin (Melissa) Herrewig, Jessica (Jerry) Hursh, Wesley Herrewig; two great granddaughters, Sharona and Dalilah Hursh; brother-in-law Murray Opper; nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband Leonard, their infant son Richard, older brother Bernard Needelman, and younger sister Irma Opper.
Lillian was a member of Temple Emanu-EI, Tucson, Brandeis Women's Organization, Women's American ORT, Smithsonian Institution, D.C., and College of the City of New York Alumni Association. Of special interest was the Arizona Historical Society, Tucson, devoting many years as a docent introducing children and adults to the wonders and history of the Southwest.
Service Noon, Wednesday, November 28, Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 North Oracle Rd., Tucson. Donations may be made in Lillian's name to Temple Emanu-EI or Arizona Historical Society.
