LYNN W. BAST  

Of Manassas, VA was received by his Heavenly Father on December 15, 2012, following a courageous five year battle with cancer. Lynn was born on April 2, 1951 to Eugene and Vera Bast. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene M. Bast and his beloved Samoyeds, Moshe and Mishka. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Valerie Cross Bast; his mother, Vera L. Bast, siblings: Linda Bassett, Vickie Richey, Cathy Kiser, Jean Bast (and wife Grace), Thomas Bast, Julie Pizzola and Michele Martin (and husband Robert) and his Samoyed, Shakiyah. He is also survived by 19 nephews and nieces and a host of relatives and friends who were with him on this journey. For those lives he touched, he will forever be remembered. Lynn spent a career of over 32 years with the CIA where he was awarded the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal upon his retirement in December 2003. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed a good round of golf and was able to realize his dream when he played Pebble Beach. Lynn was especially happy when traveling in his motor home to their place on Hilton Head Island. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Georgetown University Hospital for their compassionate support during this journey. The viewing will be held at Manassas Assembly of God (MAG) Chapel, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, VA on Thursday, December, 20, 2012 from 2 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will take place on Friday, December, 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jon Morgan officiating. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to:
