MALCOLM W. COOK

Suddenly on Friday, January 18, 2013, Malcolm W. Cook went home to be with the Lord. He was the loving husband of Linda L. Cook, loving father of Kristina Aldridge (John) and Douglas Cook (Janine) and "Pop Pop" to four wonderful grandchildren: Micah, Caleb, Jessica and Molly. He is also survived by a sister, Barb Mullen, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Larry and Tammy Waitsman, and mother-in-law, Virginia Risdon.

Malcolm was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Weymouth and Middleboro, Massachusetts. A graduate of Middleboro High School, he attended Babson College, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He entered the Navy in 1965, attending Officer Candidate School in Athens, Georgia, and was deployed to Viet Nam. Returning from Viet Nam, he worked at the Navy Audit.

Honorably discharged from the Navy, Malcolm passed the CPA exam and worked for Alexander Grant, Kirwan and Company and finally, his own practice, Malcolm W. Cook, CPA. He was an active member of Columbia Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and member of the finance and personnel committees. He worked with the youth of the church for many years, teaching puppetry and cooking for numerous mission trips. He was a founding member of CrossLink International, a non-profit that sent medical supplies to developing countries, and served on the board of the Falls Church Winter Shelter.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 26 at 10 a.m. at Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crosslink Memphis, 200 East Parkway North, Memphis, TN 38112.
