Passed away peacefully February 12, 2013 from complications of a stroke. Born in Shelton, CT, July 12, 1917 to Christen R. and Daisy (Shelton) Kaddeland, she attended Vassar, class of 1938, and secretarial school in DC. Marcia married William G. Dreisbach in 1942 and they had two sons. During WWII she worked as a secretary for the US Maritime Commission and later was the long serving legislative assistant to Rep. A. Sydney Herlong. Mrs. Dreisbach was a longtime and proud member of the Women's National Democratic Club and the DAR Columbia chapter. She served as a docent at the DAR museum for many years as well as participating at the Naturalization Court during the swearing in of new citizens, specifically handing out American flags and providing information to those sworn in. These were occasions close to her heart as her father was a naturalized citizen from Norway. Travelling was one of her lifelong loves; her last trip was a cruise around Asia at the age of 90! She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Carolyn and husband. She is survived by her sons, Bill (Susan) and James; five grandchildren, Katie, Brian, Will, Michael, and Kathy; two nephews, several great nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be arranged for a later date.
