MARGARET E. GOODING "Peggy"   
Peggy Gooding, of Falls Church, VA, passed away in the early hours of November 6, 2013, her 89th birthday. She was born in Ballston, Virginia, on November 6, 1924, to Everett Leroy Gooding and Margaret Henrietta Fenwick Gooding, moving to Washington, DC as a child. Peggy spent the majority of her life in service to many high level executives, diplomatic ambassadors and political figures in Washington, DC and throughout the world. She worked with Department of Justice, FOA, American Consulate in Germany and HUD, before retiring in 1976. After retirement, Peggy moved to Falls Church, VA, where she immersed herself in support activities, volunteering and the Women's Board of George Washington University Hospital, only recently reducing her roles. In 1985, she became Executive Secretary to the Provost at Northern Virginia Community College's Alexandria campus, also obtaining an Associate's degree during this period. She was a long-time member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Washington, DC.Peggy Gooding is survived by a brother, Leroy "Butch" Gooding (Jennifer), and cousins, Ron (Mary) Canter, Bob (Bebe) Canter, Elyse (Ray) Canter Russell, special friends, Dr. Roy Brooks, Marilyn Maultsby and Susan Snyder. There will be a service at St. Dominic Church in Washington, DC, on Friday, November 15, at 10 a.m., followed by burial at St. Barnabas Church in Temple, Hills, MD at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Society of Hematology or St. Dominic Church in Peggy Gooding's name.

Aunt Margaret we will miss you but we know you are in a better place now. I wish we could have seen each other one last time so you could see how your great great nephew Jacob has grown. You would have really enjoyed him. I know you are looking down watching us. Kiss and hug dad , grandma & grandpa for us. Love and miss you.

Peggy was my loyal vice-chairman of the Community Relations Committee at Skyline Plaza for over 20 years. She loved her community here and was always ready to step forward to help out. She was also a dear friend, and we will miss her greatly.
