MARVIN ELLIOT LASSER
On Thursday, December 20, 2012, of Potomac, MD. Marvin E. Lasser was born in Brooklyn in 1926. He went to high school at Brooklyn Tech, then served his country as a forward observer in the Army during WW II. He attended Brooklyn College and earned a PhD in Physics from Syracuse University. In 1966, he was appointed Chief Scientist of the US Army and served with distinction for 17 years. Marvin then formed a company, called Imperium, Inc., with his son, where he worked for 15 years to successfully bring his own invention of an ultrasound camera to market. Marvin was a true patriot who downplayed his service and achievements, a signature characteristic of his humility and integrity. His true passion was his family. He embodied an unconditional love that made each and every one of us feel special is his presence. He will be sorely missed. Beloved husband of Jane Lasser; devoted father of Michael S. (Caryn) Lasser, MD and Bob (Maria) Lasser. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jeffrey Lasser, Phil Lasser, Ricky Lasser, Joshua Lasser and Ethan Lasser. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Teichman. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012, 11 a.m. at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapel, 1170 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD. Interment will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
