MARY MEEHEE HWANG   
Mary Meehee Hwang died suddenly from a cerebral aneurysm on August 10, 2011 at her home in Chevy Chase, Maryland. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Georgetown University Law Center, she was an attorney in the General Counsel's office at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and drafted the first guidelines prohibiting sexual harassment in the workplace. She was active on the boards of numerous local nonprofits, including the Beauvoir School and the William Wendt Center, and also took a keen interest in early childhood education and literacy programs to benefit underprivileged children. Meehee was an ardent supporter of her children's high school and college sports teams, especially women's rowing and men's lacrosse, and she traveled the country to cheer them on. Meehee is survived by her husband, Richard Gluck, her two children, Julia and Alexander, her mother Dr. Kyu Sook Her of St. Louis, and her brother Howil Hwang. She will be missed very much. A brief prayer service and reception, open to all, will be held at St. Alban's Church, 3001 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W. at 4 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011. A celebratory memorial service after Labor Day is being planned for a date to be announced.
