SAZAMA-PETROV PATRICIA SAZAMA-PETROV, 52 Of Ocean View, DE, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013. She was the beloved wife and soul mate of Vladimir John Petrov, dear daughter of Audrey Hyatt Sazama and the late William Joseph Sazama, dear sister of Cynthia Richardson, and Sharyn Sazama-Moreau, dear niece of Patricia and the late Hillyer Smith, dear niece of James and Susan Sazama. Patty was the dearly loved aunt of Christopher Sazama, Amy Boyle, Casey Whitman, Jessica Kelsey, Shannon Colwell, Shane Boyle, Theresa Sazama, Stephen Sazama, Patricia Sazama, William Richardson, Bronté Moreau and Milan Moreau. Patty's beauty, sense of humor, laughter and vivacious personality touched so many lives. She inspired others to go after their dreams and live life to the fullest. The daughter of a Marine, she fought against Pulmonary Fibrosis with grace and courage. A healer, a giver, a lover, she always did for others and believed in random acts of kindness. Born September 23, 1960 in Washington, DC, she was raised in Wheaton, MD. Soon after graduating from Einstein High School in 1978, she attended Montgomery College where she studied art, theater and marketing. She then successfully launched several salons as well as the Aveda brand in the DC area. As a healer, she chose and cultivated her life-long profession as Massage Therapist. An innovator in this field, they called her "golden hands". This was hard physical work and also hard spiritual work as she also prayed over those she healed, including the late Dr. Petrov. She met her husband Vladimir Petrov at a high school reunion. They married in June 1999. She then moved to Hollywood to join her husband who was working there at the time. Also an event planner and former model, she was soon working the red carpet at the Oscars and events like "Women of Hollywood" for Premier Magazine. She returned with her husband to Maryland to take care of her failing uncle (the late Hillyer Smith) and aunt (Patricia Smith), and to spend more time with family and friends she cherished. Patty's bohemian "free spirit" was infectious. She had a passion for people, laughter, dancing, music, art, photography, horses, jeopardy, and the beach. Vladimir's mother, Jean Anne Petrov, of Silver Spring, MD, along with the rest of the Petrov family, Sazama family, and friends will miss Patty dearly.
