On Sunday, December 9, 2012, Paul Van der Slice died at his home in Bethesda, MD. He was the beloved husband of 37 years of Joan Goldberg Van der Slice. He was also the much loved father of Chris (Cheryl) Van der Slice and Jennifer Hope Van der Slice; and stepfather of Dean (Heidi) Parker, Danny Parker, and David (Holly) Parker; brother Norman and sister Carol Van der Sluys of Michigan; and loving grandfather of Josh, Jesse, Alex and Elizabeth Parker. Professor Van der Slice also is survived by his son's children, Chris, Brittany and Tony Townshend, and his brother-in-law Robert Goldberg.
Professor Van der Slice's marriage to Katherine Velke ended in divorce.
