PAULINE VIRGINIA WILSON BARNES  

On Sunday, October 27, 2013, Pauline Virginia Wilson Barnes, 98, passed away at Commonwealth Assisted Living, Kilmarnock, VA where she had been a resident since 2008. Born February 9, 1915 in Brandonville, WV, she was the first daughter of Victor and Ida Wilson. She married Howard E. Barnes and raised five children in District Heights, MD. Pauline worked for the Federal Government including the Naval Oceanographic Office. She was an active member of her church family, as well as Eastern Star.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Howard; Beulah Grace Dotson, sister; and daughters Bonnie Shelton (Joe) and Carolyn Seaton (Don). She is survived by three children, Howard W. Barnes of Loveland, CO; Ruth Story (Bill) of Silver Spring, MD; and David Barnes of Evergreen, CO. Grandchildren include Sharon Shelton-Allen (Paul), Joseph Shelton (Elaine), Suzanne Drury, Gwen Robinson (Mike), Michael Seaton (Deena), Lori Seaton, Chloe Rhoades-Barnes and Sadie Rhoades-Barnes. Great-grandchildren are Shannah Shelton, Shelby and Josh Drury, Catrina Robinson and Matix Seaton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Viewing at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, VA on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral service, 11 a.m., Friday, Unity Presbyterian Church, Temple Hills, MD. Graveside service is Saturday, 10 a.m., Shady Grove Cemetery in Brandonville, WV.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in honor of her daughter, Bonnie, 801 Roeder Road, Ste. 1000, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
