Polly Rogers Obituary


POLLY F. ROGERS  
Polly F. Rogers, born Polly Christine Frazier, June 7,1929 in Raleigh, NC passed away May 19, 2011 in Jacksonville, Florida. The third of seven children growing up in Raleigh, NC; she is survived by her devoted husband Raymond L. Rogers, sister Virginia "Sis" Holiday of Ft. Myers, FL, son Kirk Rogers of Bethesda, MD, daughter Connie Frostenson of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and their respective families. After their marriage in 1951, Polly and Ray lived and raised their children in Hyattsville, MD, and most recently spent winters in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Polly loved being a real estate agent for over 36 years and remained a "Go Getter" until her retirement two years ago. Polly also served loyally with friends on the Hyattsville City Council for 15 years. She loved her children, grandchildren, extended family, gardening, bird watching and having coffee with her friends. She was a graduate of Peace College, NC and Knightdale High School. Polly requested arrangements be made for her final affairs and a private memorial service in the near future. She will be remember for the Lady she was, until the end.

Polly was a dear friend and neighbor for 23 years. She touched a lot of lifes. She served us well on the city council, and she will be missed by many. Her knowledge, wisdom and insight will also be missed. Our prayers and thought are with Ray and her children

My thoughts are with Polly's family and friends. I enjoyed talking with Polly over the last few years and she will be missed in Hyattsville and among her neighbors on Calverton Street and beyond. Please accept my deepest condolences.
