EUTSLER RAYMOND PERRY EUTSLER Raymond Perry Eutsler, 85, of Spotsylvania County, Virginia passed away peacefully Sunday, January 24, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. Born January 10, 1925, in Camden, New Jersey, he was preceded in death by his parents Warner M. and Ada P. Eutsler of Gambrills, Maryland. Raymond is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy S. Eutsler; one daughter, Gail E. Jacobsen of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one son, Stephen P. Eutsler of Hudson, Florida; one sister, Sandra Barbour of Friendship, Maine; three grandchildren and one great-grandson; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Warner Eutsler of Grottoes, Virginia and Gerald Eutsler of Rockland, Maine; and one sister, Florence Miller of Gambrills, Maryland. Raymond was a distinguished veteran of World War II and served as a Technician Fifth Grade, Combat Infantryman and Radio Operator, 3rd Battalion, 291st Infantry Division, U. S. Army. In connection with military operations against the enemy on April 6, 1945, in Germany, he was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievement and the Purple Heart for wounds suffered as a result of enemy action, and was also awarded numerous other Decorations and Citations during his military service. His professional career was in banking. In 1988 he retired as a Vice President, Farmers and Merchants National Bank, Winchester, Virginia. Upon retirement, Raymond and Dorothy relocated to Spotsylvania County where they enjoyed family, vacationing, gardening and other hobbies. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Laurel Hill Memorial Park. The Rev. Alan Hager will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Raymond Eutsler''s name to the Alzheimer''s Association, or Mary Washington Hospice.
