Richard Anderson, 64, of Springfield, VA, was killed in a tragic accident behind his home on Thursday, February 7, 2013.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Leeds Episcopal Church in Markham, VA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, VA 22630.
Mr. Anderson was born March 7, 1948 in Alexandria, VA the third child of the late Conway Marion Anderson and Gloria Louise Plaugher Anderson. He was raised in Franconia. Mr. Anderson loved his family and his work in construction and took great pride in his knowledge and ability to build beautiful homes. He will be greatly missed and touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife Samantha Anderson of Springfield; five children Troy Anderson, John Anderson, Justin Anderson, Ashley Anderson, and Jeanette Anderson; Jacob Anderson, whom he considered his son; his best friend Merle Beach; seven brothers Conway Marion Anderson, III, John Ward Anderson, Raymond Lewis Anderson, Brian Martin Anderson, James Thomas Anderson, Carl Stanley Anderson, and Ward George Anderson; one sister Patricia Louise Anderson Franklin; six grandchildren Victoria Anderson, Troy Anderson, Jr., Karli Anderson, Paco Postigo, Kaylie Anderson, and Kayla Anderson; one great-grandchild Skylar Allen; and two god children Leland Beach and Merle Beach, Jr.
