RICHARD FOX Obituary
The Honorable RICHARD K. FOX, JR.
A former U.S. ambassador and retired Foreign Service officer, died in the company of his family on April 9. 2017. He was 91. Ambassador Fox is survived by his three daughters: Jeanne Fox Alston, Jane Fox-Johnson and Helen Fields and by five grandchildren: Kenneth and Kevin Alston and Rachel, Charlene and Briana Fields. A memorial service for him will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First Trinity Lutheran Church, 309 E Street, NW, Washington DC 20001. A burial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

I'm praying that you will find comfort in God's ever-gentle presence and in the thoughts and prayers of those who share your sorrow.

Dick was a gentle and gracious mentor to a whole generation of young black professionals eager for careers in international affairs. His wisdom, quiet humor and optimism helped dozens of us achieve that goals. For that contribution, his stellar career which was an inspiration to all and his personal integrity, he will be greatly missed. May he truly rest in peace.
