SGM RICHARD M. PATRICK "Dick"  U.S. Army (Ret.)  
Of Triangle, Virginia died at home on March 22, 2012. He was born on September 5, 1947 to the late Vincent J. and Ann M. Patrick in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1965 and entered the Army on December 1, 1966. SGM Patrick retired from the Army in 1989 and, again, as an Army Civilian in 2011. Following his military retirement, Mr. Patrick worked in the Office of the Provost Marshal General as a Physical Security Specialist for 21 years. He served in the Army for 23 years, seven years as a Military Police Officer and 16 years as a Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Special Agent. His major assignments included: Special Agent in Charge, Inchon, Korea; General Crimes Team Chief, Fort Bliss, TX; First Sergeant, Kaiserslautern (Germany) District; Operations Sergeant Major, Headquarters, USACIDC; Acting Branch Chief, Physical Security Branch, HQDA. Mr. Patrick's military awards include the Legion of Merit (LOM); the Meritorious Service Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters); and the Army Achievement Medal. His Department of the Army Civilian awards included the Meritorious Civilian Service Award (LOM equivalent); the Superior Civilian Service Award; and several Quality Step Increase Awards for Outstanding Performance. Dick enjoyed bass fishing, watching his grandchildren play sports, spending time with his family and friends, watching classic western and military movies, and cheering for his favorite sports teams, the NY Yankees, NY Giants, Notre Dame and Army football. Preceded in death by his parents, Dick is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Michelle; his daughter Tamara (Cyrus, Jr.) Scott of Woodbridge, VA; daughter Sharon Patrick of Montclair, VA; son Ricky (Lydia) Patrick of Potomac Falls, VA; six grandchildren, Lauren and Erich Topper, Connor and Ian Scott, Zoey and Waverly Patrick; brother Ronald (Patricia) Patrick of Poland, OH; nephew Christopher (Lindsey) Patrick and great-nephew Zander; niece and goddaughter Mollie Patrick; his beloved aunt Mary Komsa; cousins Jeanie Del Signore, Jackie Komsa, Bonnie (James) Hamrock; and numerous extended family members. Visitation will be at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, VA from 6 to 8 p.m., March 29, 2012 with a mass celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi in Triangle, VA at 10:30 a.m., March 30, 2012 followed by a full military honors burial service in Quantico National Cemetery at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the USO.
